January 1st 1996-
Tensions are high as always with Iran. US-Jordan relations are back on the rise after Desert Storm. This has made many Arab nations, such as Iran and Syria feel threatened. Both Iran and Syria have threatened an invasion to reinstate an Anti NATO Government in Jordan. Israel is as jumpy as ever, President Netanyahu met with President Clinton and threatened that Israel will do whatever is necessary to protect its borders even if it has to go against the US’s interests. President Clinton declared “Who the hell does this guy think he is, who’s the superpower here”. Operation Paladins Shield has been active since the end of Operation Desert Paladin and has kept tight watch on Syrias capability to fight. On January 9th, Paladins Shield ended. Since December 5th NATO has deployed a task force to Al Minhad airbase as a joint German and Canadian task force. The Germans have deployed JG2, the first combat active mig 29G(U) squadron alongside the Canadian 409th CF18 squadron. They share Al Minhad airbase with Saudi Arabian F15Cs and Ds, as well as UAE Apaches. The US Navy also patrols the gulf, they fly at night and we fly during the day. Routine trainings have commenced over the past month, and JG2 have flown intercepts against iranian F4s that have threatened the airspace. Their mission here is to keep a close eye on Iran, and respond to anything else that may arise in Jordan. We must ensure that Israel does not feel threatened, or we risk a conflict we can't control.
Update January 10th 1996
Operation Poseidons Wrath-On January 10th, an Iranian Warship sunk a civillian oil vessel off the coast of Iran, claiming it was a US Spy Ship. In retaliation, the NATO Task Force and its UAE/Saudi allies launched an attack on the vessel. Canadian CF18s sunk the ship, while German Mig29s and Saudi F15s engaged the Iranians in the sky, losing airframes in the fight, but destroying multiple Iranian F4 Phantoms and F5s.
Update January 15th 1996
On January 15th 1996, Israeli aircraft launched an attack on Aleppo airfield in Syria. They claim that the strike was necessary to deter any kind of strike or invasion against them by the Syrians or any other Arab nation on their border. US Navy aircraft were caught in the crossfire, intercepting the Israeli aircraft, and getting stuck in engagements with Syrian aircraft. Israel lost F16s in the strike, and two F15cs both to Syrian aircraft, but also to a US Navy FA18 who reported dangerous maneuvers made by the intercepted F15C. US Navy FA18s and F14s were shot down in the confusion by Syrian aircraft who they were trying to intercept.

Update March 20th 1996
On March 20th, Iranian funded Militants conducted a Terrorist Attack on the Aqaba airport in Jordan, leaving over 20 civilians dead in the attempted nuclear bombing. Luckily, the nuclear warheads failed to detonate, and only conventional weapons went off. NATO aircrews were ordered to retaliate, launching strikes on Nuclear Sites and Military strongholds in Iran. The following week saw the destruction of the Iranian Nuclear Industry, and over 60 Iranian aircraft destroyed. The Iranian/Militant Leaders were killed in airstrikes, or by Green Berets inserted into Jordan. A week after the strikes, Iran ceased funding, and the Militants were eradicated.
